The Fire Mage build is one of the strongest and most popular builds right now, and works especially well in groups. You can go there and see and specialize in this role. If you want to know more, we made an article dedicated to New World tank right here. If you're looking to make an extremely tank character (perhaps to support a stronger main DPS), the Sword and Shield are nearly unbeatable as a main weapon, allowing for a precise balance between crowd control and one-on-one attacks and self defense.

While you're able to heal yourself using the Staff, increased Constitution helps you avoid a situation where you're stuck by healing yourself before you can help others or – worse yet – die and leave the party without a healer in the supporting role. However, there is an argument to be made for investing in Constitution or Dexterity for your secondary attribute (or trying to find a balance between the two). The most important Attribute for the healer is Focus, as it allows you to develop greater mastery over the all-important Health Staff. However, if you choose to put some Attribute points into Dexterity, almost any light weapon can be used as a self-defense backup for the healer. The Ax is the best secondary weapon choice for a healer as it is relatively light, has a high damage potential, and can provide healing buffs when upgraded through Berserker Mastery (although, unlike the Staff, only the wielder itself can be cured by it). The Staff has two paths of Mastery – one focused on healing damage, the other primarily designed to protect against damage in the first place – and either is a great choice for the healer to pursue, depending on how your teammates like to approach the combat.

The healer's primary weapon should always be the Staff of Life, as it is the only weapon in the game that can heal both its wielder and other party members. Normally putting at least a few attribute points into the Constitution to boost your HP is recommended, but if your DPS has a group including a tank and a healer you can trust, it's of secondary importance to Dexterity and Intelligence, which combine to let them handle those meticulous high DPS weapons with greater ease. It still does high damage, but provides better crowd control than Musket or Rapiera (particularly along the Pyromancer's Mastery tree), so even if your party is at your back, you can switch it and place enemies in a tight spot is extremely useful. Thematically it might seem a little strange, but the Staff of Fire is actually the best secondary weapon a DPS character could ever want. Here the recommendation is to use the Sniper Mastery Musket or Blood Mastered Rapier for your primary weapon and the Staff of Fire for your secondary weapon. New World essentially allows you to create your own version of a tank or healer, and it's important to find out how their styles fit together before tackling difficult challenges like faction wars. PvE encounters are also a safe way to experiment with party mechanics if you're playing in a party. These encounters with the natural hazards of Aeternum are a good chance to experiment with weapons to see what suits your style, and you should be safe as long as you don't stack two weapons of the same type.Īx and Spear don't complement each other unless you prioritize the latter's Zoner skill tree, for example, although Ax and Bow or Ax and LifeStaff give you ranged abilities or the option to heal yourself. New World PvE is pretty standard, apart from some tougher bosses. The best New World builds New World PvE Builds Before logging out, rest at a camp to earn bonuses.
